So I’m just going to keep this short with some random pictures, just to sustain and keep this blog alive. Till I’m ready to properly revive it! haha.

Its a Garnier Mask that I got for free so I decided to try it out.

One main word to describe it… WET!

It was really wet and sticky and my face didn’t feel as revitalised as it said my face would feel. It was just cooling and eh.. yea, my face wasn’t whiter than it was after use.

And my mum and I actually saw this selling in Watsons.

But seriously, who the bonkers will buy this la?!?!?!?!?! And why is it even being sold?!?!?! Super horny goat weed…

I wouldn’t eat it just because of the cheesy name. I mean come on… SUPER HORNY GOAT WEED!??!?!?!

Sounds totally wrong and inedible la.

I DYED MY HAIR RED!!!

Because I desperately wanted to change my colour, it was brown wayyyy to long. But I’m not sure if I regret it or not.

Its kind of not extremely red, but somewhere there and it looks spectacularly dull on me.

Crap.

This is me with red hair. I know, its not even THAT red right?!?!?!?!

But never mind. I love Garnier’s hair dyes, they keep your hair soft and supple even after dying.

And ending this very random post with two very mystical blurish looking photos of me and my friend. The lightning was freaking awesome.

And my hair still doesn’t look red. SHIT.

When I’m at home, I guess the best thing to describe me is: Fulfilling social obligations has seldom been high on my agenda.

I’m not the kind of person who will willingly organise outings, not the kind who will constantly contact you. In fact, if my friends didn’t ask me out, I probably would not even go out with them at all.

Yea, you might say, you’ll lose a billion, if not all, of your friends in time to come. Friendship needs to be nurtured, needs to be something you work at. But then seriously, I don’t care two hoots.

Its not that friendship isn’t important to me. On the contrary, I treat my friends like gold and they treat me like shit.

But I just don’t get the point of constant contact. Like talking on the phone every single day, or making it a requirement to meet every single week.

To me, I meet you once a month, once every two months, and we talk like there’s no tomorrow. Thats the kind of friendship I’m seeking. And unfortunately, I’ve not had many people who understand what kind of a person I am.

Summing myself all up in one word: Homebody. I’m a true blue homebody. I can get stuck at home, reading my books, playing my games, doing my stuff. I’m hardly perturbed by anything.

But thats that, and I truly just needed to get that off my chest.

Anyway, I met up with 2 of my friends whom I’ve known for ages (over 5 years).

So here are some pictures. I camwhored with only one of my friend cause she stays really close by and so we sat underneath the void deck and talked for ages.

I swear the time passed like flying saucers speeding through the air when you take photos!! So anyway, here to share the photos my friend and I took!

Just in case you forgot who I work for…

I worked for EBISBOSHI SHOTENGEI! At Iluma Shopping Centre Level 4. Where they serve authentic Japanese food! There are like I think more then 4 different Japanese stores in that one place! So very very cool, and you all can go check it out!

I personally have never eaten there but two of the attractions of the place is:

1) You can be served by French maids! (Who are not from France obviously…this man once asked me if they came from France…)

2) The menus there are electronic! Meaning you tap on it and your order is taken! It shows you how high technology things can get!

So yea, we were first tasked to give out the remaining flyers!

Then when the flyers ran out, we had to walk around the mall and in the vicinity of the mall with these rather huge and eye catching posters!

Me and my friend with the posters! And yea well, we sure were eye catching! People did begin to notice the place and ask for directions on how to get there. So we did our job well!

At the end of the day, my friend and I would take photos in the toilet!

Then during our long long long 2 hour break, we found a place to sit and take photos! I’ll let all our retarded photos do the talking. Kind of lazy to think of captions.

Oh no!! My friend is kiapping my head! HAHAHA.

Haha. sorry for being so eh… I don’t really know the word for it! Anyway, thats the end of our photo taking frenzy!

Unfortunately, we’re no longer working there for now!! Because they are doing up new posters so they don’t need us for now.

Maybe they’ll call us to go back and work soon! Because it was EXTREMELY fun to work there! Sort of! Haha. Everyday was a new adventure I guess.

But I think the people there may appear aloof and cold at first but they care for their workers and they seem to provide quality service! Hopefully my friend and I will get the chance to work there again!!

Anyway, work is killer difficult! Not to mention a tad bit irritating. It never really occured to me that flyer distributers are really quite NOBLE!

I guess it never occurred to me that to reject someones flyer is pretty rude. If you raise your hand slightly and say no thank you then fine. Some people literally just treat you like thin air!

Many incidents occurred that were really funny but I have to work tomorrow so I shan’t elaborate. Anyway, I’m trying really hard not to let this blog die!!

Anyway, Singapore Idol!! So yea, I don’t really have anyone I support yet because I haven’t seen anyone like WOAH!! must support.

Ok, now I’m just blabbering randomly.

Anyway, I’m working outside Iluma, I’m the one holding the stupid huge poster! If you see me distributing flyers, take from me ok! (:

Its not hard to find a worthy cause which you support from the bottom of your heart, save the earth, save the dolphins, save the animals. All causes are worth supporting and because of this, i implore you to take a little time and support feisty princess charmaine.

She’s a 4 year old kid with neuroblastoma and you can support her by visiting her blog.

I’ve never heard of her today, never knew what kids who had cancer have to suffer through, never knew the emotional battle that the parents had to go through.

But I also never knew a child at such a young age could be that strong, be that optimistic and be that brave to fight the challenges that lay ahead.

It kind of makes me ashamed when I complain about life. Because who am I to throw away a beautiful life given to me when people, kids, are battling cancer, battling the fate that they have.

I’m in no position to comment on how painful it must be for her mummy to go through everything, neither can I say how much pain the little girl might be in right now.

But what I can do, is to ask people to support their blog.

Even if you don’t make a donation, click on their nuffnang ads. Even if you feel like you are helpless to her situation, include her in your daily prayers. Send a little prayer up to heaven for her. And I believe she will pull through by pure faith.

People might often say there are a billion people out there you need to support, why this girl, why her?

Simply because,

There may be a billion peope out there but we don’t have the means to support them. And we should support those whom we have the means to support. And Charmaine, is someone anyone can support. Through prayer, through clicking of the advertisements.

And remember that,

To everyone in the world, Charmaine might be one person, but to the people who care about her, she means the world to them.

And because of that, simply because of that, we should help them keep their world from breaking.

The first was an F&B Job Fair, held in IMM. Being the first job fair that I’ve visited, I was like a kid being let loose in a candy store. I was so excited and full of hopes, especially when I was told that the employers will hire on the spot. The truth of the matter is, they only hire the junior workers, eg, cleaners, waiters, waitress on the spot.

There were lots of jobs available and only one junior administrative post. Most of the employers although outwardly mention that for the more senior positions, related experience is not required, but inwardly it does. That was my realization after trying various booths.

There was this local company (rather famous restaurant which I always had a very good impression of) gave me the worst impression on their hiring tactics. One woman was extremely ‘bitchy’. I was curious as to what duties a ‘Guest Relations Officer’ does in their establishment and questioned her about it. After her explanation, I told her is it not the same as a maitre d’? She just looked at me with ‘hate’ written in her eyes. I think she felt threatened by me somehow and lied to me about the pay they were offering to their staff. When her colleague told her they could consider me for administration work, she absolutely refused, stating there was no such vacancy. Believe it or not, an argument ensued with me present!!! I told them it’s fine and just left that booth, feeling really despondent and upset. How unprofessional!!!

When I approached another establishment, a Japanese sounding one and applied for the same post, (they have another fancy sounding name for it) the hiring staff was really pleasant and asked me what the other establishments were offering me. When I revealed the amount, the lady was absolutely dumb-founded and told me it was just quite impossible that they would be offering such a low salary. It was here that I discovered how the other ‘bitchy’ lady lied to me about the salary.

I think I was over dressed (shirt blouse, skirt and heels), I mean I carried this ‘huge’ bag with my portfolio inside and looked ‘too professional’. Everytime, I approached a booth to ask if there was a vacancy, the attendees would somehow not hear the part which I asked if there was a job opening and proceed to ask which company I represented and who was I looking for??

People are just too taken aback when I revealed that I was looking for a job. Once again, I have to blame my appearance. Just what is wrong with me???

The good thing was, Channel News Asia interviewed me and I appeared on the 10 pm news that day. It seems they had trouble finding ‘English’ speaking candidates at the fair. Finally, I’m being appreciated for my English speaking skills. Watching the news that day surprised me, cause I had no idea I spoke such good English. That was such a boost to my moral, which I desperately needed.

Which happens to be my daddy’s birthday!

The movie is relatively darker compared to the previous few because the end of the whole saga is drawing near.

Did it suck? Only certain areas but some areas were pretty cool.

I loved the ending when Dumbledore and Harry went into the caves actually, cause I think the animation at that instant was very cool, especially when Dumbledore was waving his wand around and creating fire.

That part kind of touched me because though he was really weak, in order to protect Harry, he managed to find his strength and cast a spell.

And not to mention the effects were fantastic.

Did not like the lovey dovey parts between lavender and ron though it provided the light moments in the movie.

But I think they were too overtly focused on the romance when they should have given time for other aspects of the show.

Not enough of snape, not enough of so many people, like Lupin, Tonks etc.

Obviously, the show isn’t the whole representation of the book, alot of additional scenes that were completely absent in the book but I guess it was to create the kind of atmosphere that dark times were coming and that people make sacrifices along the way.

Like the weasleys having their house burned down, or the people on the bridge dying. It didn’t happen in the book, but it was just kind of a link of sorts.

For a almost 2 hr 40 mins movie i would say that the show was draggy in some areas but too fast paced at others. But Harry potter shows have always been like this. The fast paced actions are always at the end when things start moving too fast.

I didn’t cry when Dumbledore died but I did have the tears welling up in my eyes. Have to say that Sirius’s death was pretty much the same. Although this time they did lengthen the death of dumbledore more.

Sirius’s death was too quick, followed by too much action. Dumbledore’s death wasn’t exactly like the book but by prolonging the period of them mourning for his death, I think it kind of made it better.

I did hope they would show his funeral though. And I definitely wished they showed the final death of dumbledore where it was supposed to happen.

Because he definitely did not fall down the tower.

And I would wish they cut down on the relationships. The show was so completely focused on all the relationships in the show.

Harry and Ginny, Ginny and Dean Thomas, Lavender and Ron, Hermoine and Ron, Hermoine and that weird fella whose obsessed with her, Harry and that weird fella whose obsessed with him.

Harry potter shouldn’t be so much about the love, as it is the friendship, the bond between harry and dumbledore.

But I did like the recap of Tom Riddle. I expected much more recollection of Tom Riddle memories though. And I think the boy looks too different from the boy that acted in Chamber of Secrets as Tom Riddle.

But I could be overtly picky.

Would I say that the show was a waste of time? Definitely not!

I enjoyed some parts and hated others. It didn’t have all the details of the book that I wanted it to and I found certain scenes seriously useless. But I would say to watch it if you want to. It could be an ordinary movie I guess.

If your not a picky movie watcher, and you overlook all the minute details, then I would say the movie is pretty passe.

So yea, catch harry potter and the half blood prince today! You know you would even if it sucked because of the temptation in your hearts! (:

It may always hurt the other person and yourself to tell the truth. But by hiding behind your lies, which you fool yourself into thinking will protect the other person, you actually hurt them more.

It isn’t the words that were spoken that kills me, its the long silences filled with wods that should be uttered but held back because of considerations.

Friends and family alike should share everything with each other if they claim to be true friends and true family.

But by telling me you can’t bear to tell me the truth, you’re telling me I’m not deserving enough to know the truth.

Its so much harder for me to read about your lies than for me to hear the truth from your own mouth.

I know I’m not a great friend but hiding behind lies and false facades, actually seriously makes everything much worse.

If you treated me as a friend you would tell me the truth and if I had the courage to tell you all of my heartfelt thoughts, I wouldn’t be typing them here.

Why do we always think lying is the best solution to protecting ourselves and someone else?

Don’t they see that the person being lied to feels so much more horrible.

Because it hurts to see someone they care for, lie for them.

And this is the real truth, as it should be.

Then I have some people to be thankful for.

There aren’t alot of friends that I can say I can spill my guts to and they would understand, and more importantly they wouldn’t judge.

They wouldn’t say you’re a complete bitch for doing this, they would say I understand where you’re coming from. And these words come from their heart.

So to the people who matter and don’t mind, I can only think of one friend.

She’s been my friend since Primary school, the years of memories, the quarrels and the fights, we know deep in our hearts.

I can’t express my gratitude to her in words, so I wouldn’t even bother trying to.

There were times we fought, times we were frustrated but she kept my secrets close to her heart and didn’t let them out.

For that I am thankful.

There were times when I needed to vent and all she had to do was sit there and listen and I felt like finally, there was a teenager out there that actually understood where I was coming from.

For that, I am ever more thankful.

I wish she could know how thankful I am, but I guess she does. Because we are friends who get it without words. Thank you. For everything.

And for the people who really matter the most to me, and never ever mind..

My brother.

My family members who’ve seen me through it all. I’ve been wilful, been confused, been upset, been happy, been angry, been all the tumultuous emotions that a person could feel. And throughout it all, my family have stood by me.

I can’t always express in words what I want from them, making them feel very frustrated. And I know sometimes they don’t get exactly what I’m thinking. Because most of the time, I don’t even know what I’m thinking about.

But they’ve endured through it all. They’ve tried to their bestest ability to be considering towards me, even when I believe I’m at my worst.

They are the true people who don’t mind. Don’t mind that I lie sometimes, don’t mind that I’m not the great person some people make me out to be.

I could be the worst person in the whole wide world, but they would accept me for who I am.

And not for one second am I not thankful for that. Even in my cursing and swearing moments at them.

For everything, a simple thank you doesn’t suffice. But thats all that I can give.

So thank you to my family, for accepting me at my worst, for trusting me and for giving me all they can (even when I don’t see it sometimes).

I’m going through some bad times, where what I can only describe as ‘evil’ thoughts passing through my mind.

And in these times, I feel so frustrated and really very very sad and emotional. But somehow, after some thinking and some talking, I realised that there are still things to be thankful for.

The dark period may not pass from my life soon, but as long as I have people like my family to support me. Then I believe that I can live past it. Past the rebellion. Past the sadness.

Though no one understands truly how I feel, I’m glad my family chooses to stick by me. And not abandon me in the Sahara Desert so to speak.

Hopefully, the dark period in my life would pass. Soon.

Sometimes I feel like I’m the greatest disappointment, and I don’t understand why no one sees me as that. But I am thankful they stick by me anyway.

I’ve tried countless of times to try and write a really great entry about Michael Jackson. But then I realised that he is one of those people that you simply don’t know how to go about writing about his greatness. To put it simply, words can’t describe him.

All I could do really, was to compile all of my favourite songs of his into a playlist, starting with Ben, which I believe has the ability to make people tear just from the simple lyrics and more importantly, the angelic voice of Michael Jackson.

His passing came too sudden, I believe all his fans were eagerly anticipating his comeback concert. Everyone was waiting because everyone knew that he would make a comeback some way and that it would be grand.

When I was in the car, and I heard his passing on the radio, I believe everyone around felt the same feelings. Shock, sadness and just a mixture of emotions that is simply indescribable. I believe the news only really settled in when people saw it reported in the news, when the facts of his death was being described.

I won’t go about recounting his achievements, because they are there for all to see. But I will count the 5 things that I love about Michael Jackson.

How many of people knew this song was about a rat? How many people thought this song truly related to their lives? I could always listen to this song for hours on end and never get sick of it.

How many people have imitated his moonwalk since he debuted this move on his performance for Motown?

Yet, how many people can truly acheive the perfection with which he does his moonwalk and how many people can get people screaming just for that 5 seconds where he does the moonwalk.

He was a great dancer and his moonwalk, unparalleled.

3) For being famous, but not forgetting about the poor people around him

Many people tend to remember him for his great songs, for his great moves but I think along the way, people forgot to mention that he was just a great human being with a great big heart.

He was awarded the humanitarian award for the effort he put into fighting AIDS in Africa and the Presidential Humanitarian Award for helping people overcome alcohol and drug abuse.

There are just countless of deeds that he did for people that shows that he may be rich, but he’s never forgotten the poor or the less fortunate.

And who can forget that he co-wrote a charity anthem “We are the World” with Lionel Ritchie.

There are so many great songs he wrote, so many great dance moves he created. From what he wrote, people gained the inspiration to write. From the way he danced, people created new dance moves.

He inspired others and without a doubt, everyone loves him for that.

5) For simply being him

Throughout his life, he didn’t try to copy someone else’s moves, someone elses writing style, song style. Everything he produced, it came from him, from his heart.

For simply being the way he was, doing the things he loved best, he inspired us and he made us love him back.

Though he is gone, the memories he created, the songs he created, everything he did, will carry on forever into future generations.

And the only words I associate with Michael Jackson: Talent, Genius and mostly indescribable.

Becauses its impossible to put into words everything that he did and the person that he is. We will never have another Michael Jackson, so we will never forget about him. (:

I don’t really know the order of the pictures so I’ll do it based on what I think happened first. HAHA.

And on a random note, the justice that married my father and mother is still there doing the exact same thing! Marrying people off to each other!! Cool isn’t it, even after 20 plus year!

Them saying their vows like I will always promise to love you, cherish you protect you all these sweet mushy stuff. I think I’m going to write my own wedding vows in the future, I kind of don’t really like the current one. Abit too cheesy, I like to put my own twist on it. (:

I think its important for you to find out which hand and which finger to place the rings on, especially the males, cause you place the rings first. HAHA. My aunt forgot which and there was quite the commotion. Believe me.

I love the wedding certificate casing nowdays, nice shiny and gold! Much better than my parents era. Those were the days when gold wasn’t common eh.

All these shots are very nice and artistic huh! Taken by the brides brother who is a semi professional photographer, he carries one of those SLR cameras that look really cool where you can adjust the zoom manually and all that high gadget stuff!

They look like a family already don’t they? Though the baby is the bride’s sisters! But I’m sure they’ll form their own family soon.

I don’t know why my cousin hardly smiles, I think he thinks its nicer to smile without teeth. Most of the shots were like he really wants to burst out laughing but he is controlling hard, those kind of expression if you catch my drift.

But he is very happy of course! He married such a beautiful wife. (:

And what has got to be my favourite shot from the ROM pictures…

I like this shot because its a good representation of marriage. Theres a long road ahead and you’ve walked half of your life alone, but now you have someone beside you, to hold your hand and to walk down the rest of that long path with you.

So yea, I think this is a good representation and the leaves and everything, I just really like this picture!

Staring with the studio pictures…

I like this last photo because I always like to take something near in focus and the one behind slightly blurred out, I think its the coolest effect and makes everything just look that much cooler.

The great thing about this photographer I think is because he managed to catch some shots where the really natural expression comes out, where you can tell the smile is from the heart and not from just faking it. So yea, some of the best shots were them with their most natural expression.

An important thing about being a photographer, is being able to make your subject comfortable, so comfortable you’re able to take shots of them in their natural state, which is often where most beauty lies.

I personally like this picture alot, the colour of the flowers and the angle of the shot is really great. So yea, one of my favourites. (:

My mummy loves this photo and she wants me to replicate the exact same pose (crazy lady) but I do agree its one of the best photos. (:

People used to be superstitious about not wearing black but even black now can look very sleek, chic and cool and matched with gold, I think its really quite the perfect match for a gown.

I didn’t even know there was a railway track left in Singapore, but I really like the idea of taking photos there! Railway tracks are one of the best scenic spots to do photoshoots to me.

I just love this photo because of the backdrop and the whole effect is just super sweet and I just really like it!!

Nowadays photoshoots are so wonderfully nice! You have like a billion costumes to change into and you get to go to beautiful places and they photoshop the backgrounds to make them look so marvelous

All done in Singapore! Don’t even have to travel to overseas to get snow as your backdrop! So yea, I really love all the photos and it shows us all that Singapore does have scenic spots to take photos no?

Anyway, the final editing in the book was done marvelously and I think the memories of the photoshoot, I will safely say, can be kept forever. (:

Its not the end that matters but the process of getting to the end.

So today there shall be less words and more pictures, which is preferred by everyone no?

These are the pictures taken before, when we had to go collect the wedding cake from the groom’s house:

This is the basket where you store all the dowry that you’re supposed to give to the brides parents according to what they have formerly discussed with the groom’s parents.

Normally dowry includes money, jewellry (prefably gold), food etc. You catch the idea. For the money, you have to accept the amount and then give a little back to the groom’s parents. Its kind of a courtesy.

Some of the stuff that went into the basket:

I think its jewelry inside these packages, I’m not really sure.

So you can pretty much request for any food that you want, like you see here, the brides’s parents requested for pork leg I think. And we brought home pork leg ourselves!

I wonder if you can make totally unreasonable requests like eh, I want a billion oranges and ehhh… 2 thousand clothes sewn from fine silk or something.

HMMM.. i think nobody would want to marry me after that though. BOOO. ahhaa.

But a girl can dreammm…

So when I told you we were going to collect wedding cake, what exactly did you imagine? Did you imagine something like…

This is what we got:

Its kind of a Teochew cake kind of thing which we totally didn’t know how to appreciate and we didn’t even know how to go about eating it. HAHA.

So yea, apart from the peanut brittle and what looks like lao po bing, we didn’t really eat anything else. BOOO. Anyway, something really special I found was this…

On the can of each pork leg, there is this “XI” word, which is kind of the word you see everywhere during chinese wedding, meaning happiness or something to that extent.

Isn’t it sweet??? All pork legs have that nice little sticker on it!

Now on the day of the wedding, we head off to the groom’s house for the tea ceremony!

The groom picks the bride up from her house first, which is pretty much where all the fun happens, where you get to make the groom do horrible things like eat wasabi and say sweet stuff like i love you in 500 languages or something. Ah, so lucky to be me. (:

While waiting for the groom and bride to arrive, took some pictures of my cousins:

The couple have arrived and the tea ceremony begins!

First, they serve tea to the parents and collect red packets filled with lotsa lotsa moolah! Then they serve the elders according to seniority, the most senior getting served first.

Starting with my eldest uncle. Followed by my aunt.

Then my PARENTS! (:

My mother kept wanting to be called XIAO JIE (Miss)! Totally in her dreams. In the end, she got some really oldish sounding title like DA YI or YI MA or something. Ah well, HAHA.

My mummy was smiling so widely till her mouth couldn’t even close. If I got married I think she might have a permanent problem closing her mouth. I CAN’T WAIT FOR THAT DAY! HAHAHA.

Lastly, my youngest uncle and auntie.

Because my cousins are all younger or of the same age as this cousin, we all don’t get tea served to us. AWWWW SHUCKS.

But all of the people have to give them red packets when served tea. And if you are the one carrying the tea, you get red packets too! DAMN! I shoudl have done that instead of standing there taking pics! hahaha.

Then its picture time!

They are too busy looking at the professional photographer to even be bothered with me…

They head off to my cousins old room to check out his past living conditions:

My cousin LOVES xiao ding dang. To the extent he has one whole collection of them even in his new house. And he apparantly hugs this very grotty one for years on end, explaining why it looks like a 100 years old.

After they left to take photos of them in various scenic spots, we remained in the groom’s house and took more pictures of my cousin.

We also used this special machine to weigh how much body fats we have! And apparantly I’m in the healthy range! WHOOPEE!

My cousins learn aikido, which is why they normally adopt some kind of fighting stance. Not because they are obsessed with fighting!

After that, we headed to the bride and grooms new house for a buffet. And when we got there, we bumped into them downstairs!

And they’ve changed into the 2nd attire for the day!

Its a schnauzer and its name is CANCAN. Cute name huh?

Which leads me to think…

Is my mixed poodle silky terrier a.k.a silky poo cuter or the schnauzer? SAY MY DOG!

And since we’re comparing.. how about..

My cousin and the brides sisters daughter? Whose cuter? HAHA.

I didn’t manage to catch her in her 3rd outfit for the day but here and some pictures of her room:

The room is pretty much decked out in bright red and pink. And no, we didn’t hide chickens under the bed to see if their first child would be male or female. And no, we didn’t get kids to roll on their bed so they can have children soon.
